A project exploring masculinity and the inability to express emotions due to gender roles and societal pressures. Despite being at the top of the patriarchal hierarchy, men face significant pressure to perform masculine norms, leading to dramatic statistics:
– Suicide is the leading cause of death for men aged 18 to 30.
– 3 out of 4 suicides are committed by men.
– Men make up 95% of the prison population.
– Men are responsible for 78% of domestic violence incidents.
Meanwhile, many men keep themselves occupied with work and hobbies in silence, rather than sharing their feelings. This work portrays that behavior, imagines where these hidden emotions might reside, and tries to open doors to break the barrier of silence.
